— Tour overview

Eleven days through
the last Himalayan kingdom

Bhutan is unlike anywhere else on earth — a Himalayan Buddhist kingdom that has deliberately chosen depth over speed, preservation over mass tourism, and Gross National Happiness over GDP. This 11-day journey from Delhi moves deep into the country's interior, reaching places that most visitors never see: the sacred Black Mountain region of Gangtey, the ancient dzong country of Trongsa and Bumthang, and the fertile river valleys of Punakha before the iconic finale at Paro.

The circuit is arranged so that the journey goes east before returning west — an unusual and rewarding sequence. Gangtey's Black-necked Crane valley, Bumthang's 7th-century temples (among the oldest in the Himalayan world), and the two-day immersion in Paro that culminates in the hike to Taktsang Monastery — perched on a cliff 900 metres above the valley floor — form the unforgettable arc of this deeply spiritual and culturally rich journey.

Throughout, the texture of Bhutan reveals itself: dzong fortresses that double as administrative centres and monasteries, traditional crafts schools teaching the 13 arts of Bhutan, a capital city without a single traffic light, and landscapes of extraordinary mountain beauty at every turn.
